Jews first settled here in the late 17th century. In 1897 there were 601 Jews out of a total population of 2,082.
After September 1939 the Jews of the town (400) were confined to a ghetto by the Nazis. All were deported to Treblinka 9/25.
The Encyclopedia of Jewish Life Before and During the Holocaust pg.1235. Eds. Spector & Wigoder; NY Univ. Press, 2001.
Not to be confused with the Stanislawow district located today in Ukraine. The JewishGen Gazetteer lists no fewer than
30 communities with this name, however the Stanislawow of the Warsaw district here is not included as a
Jewish community in the JewishGen Communities Database in spite of the size of it's Jewish population.
